Dave Arland

With more than 20 years experience in the consumer electronics industry, Dave Arland is respected by both editors and listeners as a knowledgeable resource.

A native Hoosier, Dave graduated from Butler University in 1985 with a degree in Radio & Television. He spent three years on-air at WIBC and WIRE Radio before being named Press Secretary to four-term Indianapolis Mayor Bill Hudnut. After a wealth of city government and national association experience, Dave joined Thomson/RCA in 1991.

At Thomson, Dave moved up through the ranks to be named Vice President of Global Consumer Marketing. He led the public relations efforts to introduce mp3 music players, high-definition TV, and e-book readers to consumers throughout the U.S. and Europe. He also served as the company’s voice in Washington, testifying twice before Congress and helping staff of the Federal Communications Commission understand complex digital technology developments.

In 2008, he started Arland Communications and has helped consumer companies, broadcasters, and trade associations reach new audiences with the help of a dedicated team and key partners.

His frequent “Dave The Gadget Guy” appearances on WIBC FM 93.1 in Indianapolis help listeners decode the alphabet soup of tech industry changes.

Dave volunteers as Master Steward educator for Lambda Chi Alpha Fraternity, is a passionate STAR TREK fan, and is on the board of WFYI Public TV. He is married with one daughter. Dave and his wife are musicians at Holy Spirit Catholic Church near Indianapolis.

Joshua Phelps

Creative Director

Joshua Phelps is a creative with a business mindset. He uses his talent and passion for the creative process to make obscure concepts into powerful stories. With a degree from Butler University’s Lacy School of Business, Joshua guides the strategic direction of his work to achieve his client’s business goals, evidenced by his Telly awards as both a Producer and Editor.

In his work as Creative Director at Arland Communications, Joshua has worked as a Director, Producer, Editor, and DP across the United States and internationally in Europe and Asia. His projects range from broadcast TV commercials to corporate content for Fortune 500 companies and include hundreds of interviews with high profile individuals.

Joshua is constantly looking to discover new challenges in his work and learn new skills. Recently, Joshua earned his license as an sUAS Pilot and has become adept at aerial cinematography.

As an undergraduate, Joshua started his own freelance design business, which was later acquired by Arland Communications when he joined the team in 2013.

In his free time Joshua travels the world and tries lots of new hobbies – always in search of adventure and new projects to tackle. He loves the ideas and inspiration that come from traveling and hearing people’s stories and perspectives along the way. Joshua tackles every new adventure – at work or at play – with his wife Maggie, his “badass” partner-in-crime.

Caroline Rogers

Creative Production Specialist

(Sometimes Mary) Caroline Rogers is a vibrant intellectual, bringing her talents primarily to the video side of Arland Communications. She fell in love with film a long time ago, and is happy and lucky enough to have turned her childhood passion into a career. She started off as a performer, where she found a love of music and visual storytelling that fueled the curiosity that landed her in this industry.

Caroline attended Butler University, graduating in 2013 with a Bachelor of Arts in Digital Media Production, specializing in Art + Design. Since graduating, she’s been on quite an adventure, filming all over the world and wearing all sorts of different professional hats. From working in a local brewery, to operating a crane at CBS/Fox News, filming weddings all over the country, and working as both a choreographer and shooter on several music videos, she’s been all over the place, taking in as much experience as she can. She’s been able to work for some big names, including National Geographic, Coke Zero and Acura; but also for small, nameless projects fueled by passion and little else. The world is full of amazing things, and her dream is to capture a little of it all.

Endless curiosity and tenacity are the two things that really make Caroline who she is. She constantly pushes herself to learn more, to be better, to achieve a higher standard. Some might even go so far as to call her a nerd, a title she wears proudly. More than anything, she refuses to believe that her best days are behind her, ever searching for that next brilliant spark. She loves to tell stories, and loves to watch them come to life in video editing.

In her free time, she travels as much as she can, dances with friends, explores the outside world with her dog Sadie, spends too much time watching horror films, and writes like mad. With tons of creative energy to burn off, she’s excited for the future and the opportunity to be a part of the Arland family.
